USAAS Membership Information
Why do I need a USA Artistic Swimming (USAAS) membership?
Lone Star Synchro is a member club of USA Artistic Swimming. Our insurance is through them, thus we require all our swimmers (members or not) to have an active USAAS membership.
Who pays which USAAS membership?Â
USA Artistic Swimming Memberships are valid between September 1 to August 31. ~$1 to $8 processing fee with Sports Engine website may apply. A one day, trial, athlete, or competitive athlete USAAS membership is required to swim at Lone Star Synchro practices. Please refer to the latest information at the USAAS website.
One Day (free): Good for one day, first time synchro members. No Sport80 registration required.
Trial ($19): Good for 30 days. If someone wants to try the sport. If apply for an athlete membership while this membership is active, the $15 can mahy be able to go towards an athlete membership if within the same synchro year. This membership may be included with some intro classes.
Athlete ($50): All regular members, unless planning to compete. Can upgrade to a competitive athlete for an additional $53.
Competitive Athlete ($100): Required to compete (except possibly for invitational meets)
Note coaches with professional membership have a masters competitive athlete membership included. Note if you do not compete at a meet before USAAS Masters nationals in October, you only need an athlete membership at this time.Other: Informational Member memberships are available to receive USAAS e-mail communications. Friend of Synchro memberships ($35) or chaperones or assistants on the deck with the team and requires SafeSport Training. Neither of these are acceptable USAAS memberships for Lone Star Synchro to swim at at practices.
